Ayça Atabey

Ayça Atabey is a graduate of Robert College and holds a bachelor degree from Durham University. She is currently working as a full-time specialist research assistant at the Information Technology Law Institute and is a PhD student at Edinburgh University in the UK. Her research mainly focuses on the challenges regarding personal data collection on mobile operating systems in the scope of GDPR. She has a particular interest in emerging technologies (digital trade, cloud computing, AI and machine learning, big data and IoT) and in Data Protection, especially in its intersection with fundamental rights. Her research concerns the notions of 'consent', 'fairness', 'vulnerability' and protection of children.
