Outcomes of the Workshop with the Turkish Data Protection Authority

During the implementation period of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), the first Workshop held together at Istanbul Bilgi University Information Technology Law Institute on April 26, 2017 with the participation of academia, civil society, and the private sector. During the Workshop, which is organized with the participation of high level representatives of civil society and private sector, stakeholders express the problems they have experienced in implementing KVKK, and the opinions and proposals on the secondary legislation in the process of compliance with KVKK.

During the Conference held in two sessions on the same day afternoon: in the first session, Mr. Faruk BILIR, President of the Personal Data Protection Board, and some members of the Board evaluated the KVKK. The first session was held in the moderation of Yasin BECENI and the Director of Information Technology Law Institute, Leyla KESER. In the second session, the KVKK was evaluated in terms of the EU Regulations from a scientific point of view; Yasin BECENI and Batu KINIKOĞLU from the Information Technology Law Institute made presentations in the moderation of the DPA President, Faruk BILIR.
