As the Technology Law Institute of Istanbul Bilgi University, we aim to provide an impartial platform where various stakeholders can come together and discuss problems faced by IT companies and possible solutions. With this aim, the IT Law Institute hosted the first of many IT Talks last week with the theme “Data Localization in the Data Driven Economy”. The first meeting was designed to address the problems that arises from the lack of communication between companies and regulatory bodies. During the meeting, the following topics are discussed: local and global perspectives towards data localization and these perspectives’ effects on cloud applications, local and global data localization regulations, and what the next steps should for Turkey.
